Cookie Policy

Last Updated: 24 August 2026

Quick Summary: We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to run this website. The only first-party cookie we set is strictly necessary for keeping you logged into the customer portal. We also load third-party services (Google Maps, Cloudflare Turnstile) which may set their own cookies. We do not use advertising, marketing, or analytics cookies.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit. Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), cookies are classed as either strictly necessary (no consent required) or non-essential (consent required).

2. Cookies we set

Cookie / storage Purpose Type (PECR) Duration
portal_session Keeps you logged into the customer portal (magic-link auth). Without it, every page refresh logs you out. Strictly necessary (reg 6) 90 days
remember_token Lets the portal re-establish your session after iOS Intelligent Tracking Prevention purges the portal_session cookie. Stored in localStorage, not a cookie. Strictly necessary 90 days
at_push_enabled Records that you have enabled push notifications so the banner doesn't re-show. Strictly necessary Until cleared
cookie_consent_dismissed Records that you have dismissed the cookie banner so it doesn't re-show on every page load. Strictly necessary Until cleared

All of the above are either HTTP cookies or localStorage entries. The localStorage entries are not technically cookies under PECR, but we disclose them here for transparency (per ICO guidance).

3. Third-party services that may set cookies

When you use our booking forms, we load scripts from the following third parties. These providers may set their own cookies on your device. We load these scripts because they are necessary for the booking form to function (address autocomplete, bot protection).

Google Maps JavaScript API

Used for address autocomplete on the pickup/dropoff fields and for the live driver-tracking map. Google may set cookies when you interact with the map. See Google's Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare Turnstile

Used for bot protection on the booking submission (the "I'm not a robot" check). Cloudflare may set cookies to remember your verification status so you're not challenged again on the next booking. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Stripe (card payments)

If you choose to pay by card, the card-input form is hosted by Stripe. Stripe may set cookies on their own domain. We never see or store your card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies we do NOT use

5. The cookie banner

You will have seen a small dismissible banner at the bottom of our customer booking pages saying "We use essential cookies + third-party services (Google Maps, Cloudflare) for security + functionality." When you dismiss it, a localStorage flag (cookie_consent_dismissed) is set so the banner doesn't reappear. We use a dismissible banner rather than a full consent-management platform because there are no advertising or analytics cookies to toggle — the only first-party cookie is strictly necessary.

6. How to control cookies

All modern browsers let you control cookies. You can:

Impact of blocking cookies: If you block the portal_session cookie, you will not be able to log into the customer portal (you can still book via the public booking form or by phone). If you block third-party scripts (e.g. via an ad blocker), address autocomplete may not appear — you can still type the address manually.

To clear localStorage entries: Use your browser's "Clear browsing data" feature and include "Cookies and other site data" (this also clears localStorage in Chrome and Firefox).

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy when we add new cookies or services, or when cookie regulations change. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
